ATLANTA CHAPTER SPOTLIGHT
Anita White Carson a Miles College Graduate Class of 1950 and Lifetime member of Miles National Alumni Association, devoted member of Miles Atlanta Alumni Chapter for more than 50 years. Ms. Carson is standing in front of Anita White Carson Middle School in Greensboro, GA., which is named in her honor. Ms. Carson served more than 30 years as a classroom teacher, and served as a homebound teacher for students who could not attend school. A truancy officer and dedicated Adult Education mentor for seniors who never had the opportunity to participate in school or had to stop early to work. She's the first woman ever elected to the board of education in Greene County.
The Photos were used at two Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., regional celebrations February 24th thru 25th in honor of two Diamonds. Ms. Carson being one of the honorees.
On March 3rd thru 4th Kappa Omega Chapter celebrated as the oldest chapter in Atlanta and honored her as the only Diamond member of 75 years in Kappa Omega Chapter at 94 years old.
